Pinnacle Financial Partners Opens First Office in Lynchburg
Commercial banking team opens for business today
Pinnacle Financial Partners’ eastward push through Virginia took a big step forward today with the opening of a new loan production office in Lynchburg. This is Pinnacle’s first Virginia office outside the Roanoke Valley and will be home base for financial advisors Ryan White and Scott Hall. It’s located in a new development of office suites at 1610-B Graves Mill Road.
“Lynchburg is ready for what Pinnacle has to offer, and this is the perfect first step for us,” said White, who is a Lynchburg native and started with the firm in April. “We intend to grow a team here and build out our capabilities so we can meet all of our community’s needs. We are ready now to serve business clients in Central and Western Virginia.”
Joining White and Hall is Sherry Garrett, a financial advisor assistant, with room to grow as additional advisors and associates come on board. The office is equipped to serve the lending and other financial services needs of middle market and small business clients. Additional commercial products and services will be supported from nearby Roanoke. It does not have retail banking capabilities, and as such will not accept deposits or have an ATM.
Pinnacle’s nearest offices to Lynchburg are in Vinton and Roanoke, where the firm is a top five bank by deposits. Regional President David Allen has put the bank on a growth trajectory by strategically hiring skilled financial services leaders, like White, who have long track records of successful client relationships. White came to Pinnacle from BB&T, where he managed the South Central Virginia region.
“Lynchburg is a special community, but the needs of many of its businesses are falling through the cracks,” White said. “Big, national banks don’t invest a lot of resources in cities our size, and smaller banks aren’t always able to meet the capital and service needs of middle market companies. Pinnacle is designed to do exactly that by giving clients the personal service of a community bank with the resources and sophisticated products of a much larger one. That’s a big win for our community.”
The team will occupy half of the available space in this building at approximately 1,600 square feet. That includes four private offices, a conference room and a reception area. It will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pinnacle Financial Partners provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution. The firm earned a place on FORTUNE’s 2017 and 2018 lists of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in the U.S., and American Banker recognized Pinnacle as the sixth-best bank to work for in 2017.
Pinnacle entered the Virginia market in 2017 when it acquired BNC Bancorp. Pinnacle continues BNC’s practice of offering community bank service with the resources and sophistication of a larger firm.
The firm began operations in a single location in downtown Nashville, TN in October 2000 and has since grown to approximately $22.9 billion in assets as of March 31, 2018. As the second-largest bank holding company headquartered in Tennessee, Pinnacle operates in 11 primarily urban markets in Tennessee, the Carolinas and Virginia.
