John Cannon Joins Pinnacle to Build out Firm's Commercial Real Estate Business
As part of Pinnacle Financial Partners’ intent to significantly expand its real estate business, the firm has recruited John Cannon as a senior vice president and commercial real estate manager.
“Pinnacle has developed the No. 1 lead bank share in Nashville for businesses with sales from $1-500 million, according to Greenwich Associates,” said M. Terry Turner, Pinnacle’s president and CEO. “As we’ve communicated to shareholders, our goal is to replicate that success in commercial real estate.”
Cannon brings 19 years of financial services experience to Pinnacle and will lead the firm’s commercial real estate initiative.
“Pinnacle provides a solid platform from which to build a large real estate business,” Cannon said. “I am very excited to be a part of such a great organization.”
Before joining Pinnacle, Cannon was senior vice president and Tennessee market manager for commercial real estate at US Bank, where he was responsible for developing and maintaining its commercial real estate finance portfolio. He previously held commercial real estate roles with PNC Bank (formerly National City Bank) in its special assets division and investment real estate finance group.
“Pinnacle has always been involved in commercial real estate, but we plan to increase our commitment to that segment considerably going forward,” Pinnacle Chairman Rob McCabe said. “John’s experience and success leading the CRE program for US Bank, one of the top 10 in the country, makes him the right fit for our firm.”
Cannon earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Hanover College and master’s of business administration from The University of Louisville.
He is based at Pinnacle’s downtown Nashville office at Pinnacle at Symphony Place.
