Lower Oil Prices Benefit Consumers, Increase Risks

The equity markets improved in the fourth quarter, but performance was volatile. The big story was that commodity prices continued to fall rapidly from their peak in the second quarter. Too much supply and not enough global demand caused a big drop in oil prices.
