Matt Hurst

Matt Hurst has worked in banking since 1997 and currently serves as the Blount County Market Area Manager. Matt’s broad service-driven financial background includes community and commercial banking expertise and working with companies of varying sizes and complexities.

Matt grew up in Lenoir City and graduated from Mars Hill University in 1996. Matt began his banking career in 1997 with Bank First, which was later acquired by BB&T, where he served as a business banker in Knox County and later as market president of Loudon County.

In 2011, Matt and his family moved to Cleveland, TN, where he served as market president for BB&T over the Bradley, McMinn, Monroe and Blue Ridge/Murphy markets. From 2016 thru late 2023 Matt served as president at United Community Bank over their East Tennessee markets. After a very brief time as market president for CapStar Bank in Bradley County, he moved into the role of area manager at Pinnacle Financial Partners for Blount County in February 2024. 

Matt and his wife Wendy of 25 years have three kids, Grant, Addison and Lauren. Wendy currently serves as a special ed inclusion teacher at Hopewell Elementary School for Bradley County Schools. They enjoy following the athletic careers of their kids and travelling.
